Morris Group Inc. officials announce that the company purchased Hegman Machine Tool of Maple Grove, MN, an exclusive distributor of Okuma, Hardinge, Chiron, and Hydromat, and other manufacturing technology lines. The new entity, “Hegman Machinery, a Division of Morris Group Inc.” has expanded the Morris Group’s U.S. sales and service areas to now include the states of Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and about one-third of Wisconsin.

“The fit is ideal for both companies and our customers,” says Brad Morris, president of Morris Group Inc. “Ralph Hegman founded his company 31 years ago and has led it with many of the same guiding principles that we have in our 72 year history: honesty, integrity, and hard work.”

Morris also indicated that the transition will be relatively seamless for customers of Hegman Machine.  “They should expect the same high level of service,” he says.  “Our intention is that the employees currently servicing Hegman's customers will continue to do so under Morris ownership.”

To further ensure a seamless transition, Hegman will remain as a key advisor handling capital accounts.   Morris executive Jerry Rex will assume the role of Hegman Machinery's president.
