Manufactures parts for above-ground, underground tanks.
Officials at the Missouri Department of Economic Development (DED) announce that a company that manufactures parts for above-ground and underground tanks will be expanding its Kansas City operations.
Clay and Bailey Manufacturing Co., which is marking its 100th anniversary in 2013, plans to add new production space at its existing facility, a capital investment of $1.5 million that is expected to create 4 new full-time jobs.
Clay and Bailey manufactures U.S. made tank accessories and corrosion control anodes for above-ground and underground tanks. The parts the company produces for above-ground tanks include overfill prevention valves, vents, fillcaps, pipe plugs, and spill containment devices; for underground tanks, the company manufactures anodes and other corrosion control needs, manways and gaskets. Established in Kansas City in 1913, Clay and Bailey plans to add 7,000ft2 to its existing facility to expand capacity for a new production line.
To assist Clay and Bailey with its expansion, the DED authorized an incentive package that includes $38,970 in Enhanced Enterprise Zone program tax credits over five years.
The Enhanced Enterprise Zone Program was implemented in 2004. Enhanced Enterprise Zones are specified geographic areas designated by local governments and certified by the Department of Economic Development. Zone designation is based on certain demographic criteria, the potential to create sustainable jobs in a targeted industry, and a demonstrated impact on a local cluster development.
