The Long Island Forum for Technology (LIFT, www.lift.org) will be hosting its third Advance Composites Conference on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, from 8:30am to 3:30pm at The Morrelly Homeland Security Center, 510 Grumman Rd. West, Bethpage, NY 11714.

The conference will provide the manufacturing, design, and engineering community with an update on LIFT’s Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Technology Innovation Center (AMMTIC). In addition, LIFT’s Advance Composites Conference will feature industry experts discussing such timely topics as: high tech business projects, the skills and capabilities that the OEMs require in their composite supply chain members, and new and improved processing equipment. A reception will follow the conference. There is no fee to attend the conference.

Late August 2012, LIFT President Frank Otto announced that the organization had purchased a 25,000ft2 building in Plainview; the funding for which was made possible through the efforts of New York State Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos. The AMMTIC, slated to be operational later this year, will give area manufacturers access to leading-edge technologies, educational and training programs, and contract opportunities presented by the primes involving manufacturing with composite materials such as carbon fiber, fiberglass and aramid.
